PERFORMANCE A MUSEUM OR TWO - Montevideo, Uruguay

The performance deconstructs the idea of a Museum as a static place putting forward a mobile

exhibition space generated by seven display case backpacks carried by seven women.

Through this action part of the assets of the National Museum of Natural History from Uruguay

is socialized. This institution has been working behind closed doors because its building

lacks the conditions to exhibit its heritage and in the future  it is going to be located in the same

area than E.A.C. the Contemporary Art Space of Montevideo. Inside, the cases contain

pieces that were provided to the NMNH for science related women. This is an advance of the

Museum over the space and a first disclosure of that hidden legacy, reactivated in dialogue

with a different environment. Performers: Luna Anais, Lucía Sismondi, Meica Valdivia, Ana

Aristimuño, Olga Guerra, Cécile Perret and Manuela Prado. March, 2018
